writing thoughts

Sometimes, sitting down to write, my mind suddenly blanks out all the creative thoughts that have been invading it all day. Words, which seemed to contain nuggets of truth and wisdom, are gone forever and I’m left struggling to complete simple sentences. Ideas, that flowed so freely when I was preparing lunch, have moved beyond my recall. What can be done to reclaim them? It as if, finding that they have not been recorded, they have flown like birds to roost in a more convivial environment and, one day, when I’m reading someone else’s work I will see them nestled on a page no longer mine.
